On May 27th and 28th the Middle School put on a resounding performance of the musical Hairspray Jr. at the Alliance Francaise Theatre. This year 6th, 7th and 8th graders participated in our Hairspray Performance ECA and spent over one hundred hours of hard work and practice including a sleepover weekend in the Middle School Hall. Rehearsals for each of our 3 casts started in January and lasted until May. These involved the talents of many members of our community including, teachers and devoted parents who have helped in Music, Dance , Drama and all aspects of Design. We are thankful to all those in the ISS Community who played a part in the success of Hairspray.
The experience culminated in our four performances at the Alliance Theatre on 27 and 28 May, that generated enough funds for the financial support and sponsoring for the education of three students at SOK SABAY – a shelter for Mistreated Children in Phnom Penh; Cambodia. Well done Middle Schoolers!
