A group shot as a Kampong at the Look Out Point of the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve!
The pouring rain did not dampen our Middle School student’s spirits as they set out on their exploration of Bukit Timah Nature Reserve on their Service as Action Day 2! Amidst the stunning variety of flora and fauna that can be found in the reserve, our students were challenged to complete a scavenger hunt in order for them to immerse themselves in nature, appreciate the purpose of the reserve to preserve biodiversity in Singapore, and gain a deeper understanding of the purposes of the UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number 15: Life on Land.

At ISS, Service as Action aims to help students apply what is learnt within the classroom to real world issues in their community or even the world at large. We hope all our Middle School students have benefitted from learning how what they do in their local community can have an impact on larger, global communities.
