It’s the start of a new school year! Both campuses were bustling with energy as returning and new students embarked on a new phase in their education at ISS. With their glowing smiles, learners were warmly welcomed by their teachers and peers whom they are seeing after the long summer break. 

At the Paterson campus, our Elementary School students were guided to their classrooms by their Kampong (homeroom) teachers and started their day with hands-on activities such as decorating the birthday notice boards with paper flowers and creating their own superheroes. Our Middle School students had their first assembly of the school year, where they were introduced to their kampongs and split into their classes for their planned school schedule.

At our High School, students were introduced to their kampong, pastoral care and academic skills teachers, and were briefed on the various academic requirements and student life as they moved up a grade level. The school community also had team-building sessions among their kampongs, pastoral groups and houses, allowing students from different grade levels to interact and get to know each other better.

We’re glad to see everyone back! May the new school year be a fulfilling one that brings new learning experiences, friendships and opportunities to explore and discover!
