English as an Additional Language (EAL)
Given our diverse international student population and our commitment to success for all, a comprehensive programme of English as an Additional Language (EAL) is offered in all sections of our school.
There are multiple phases in the programme, including an intensive programme for beginners to ensure students are challenged appropriately according to their English ability.
Phase 1 is intensive English for students with very little spoken English.
Phase 2 to 4 has an appropriate level of assistance ranging from Phase 2, which is quite intensive, to Phase 4, which prepares students for transition into the regular English class.
EAL students are continuously monitored and assessed throughout the school year to ensure a timely transition between phases. Each child will study at an appropriate level for their ability.
